7:10 - 7:20 Chair Report/Finance Report - Pete & Kim We have over $4,000 in our treasury.
7:20 - 7:25 Fundraising Group - Liz, Kim, Avis, Donna, Laurrie
The August Penguin Theatre fundraiser was a success. Special gthanks to Donna Lennane who worked with owner Joe Broncato to provide us with a discount on seats and donated a case of wine.
7:25 - 7:30 Campaign Update - Pete
Ellie is beginning to canvass and we’re planning a big Saturday canvass at the end of the month. Ellie is also planning on visiting small businesses in town and creating opportunities for residents to meet with her.
7:30 - 7:35 Outreach Group - Jackie & Pete
We have SP Democratic emails that County Dems have purchased. We’ve also downloaded new Democratic registrations, and new residents lists. We have plans to reach out to the Hispanic community in SP.
7:35 - 7:45 Green Energy Consortium Update - Diane Cuellar
The Consortium is re-negotiating contracts with the municipalities that have been using them. We’ll wait until after the election to begin raising awareness in SP.
7:45 - 7:55 Letchworth Referendum Q&A David Evangelista
David spoke at length about the flaws in the MOU and the fact that there is no contract. The actual referendum language is simply a vote to give the Town Board the authority to sell the property to the developer without us knowing what is being proposed, He recommends a NO vote.
7:55 - 8:05 Floating Rail & Waterway Zoning Change - George Potanovic George spoke about the proposed changes in zoning and felt that we should not proceed with this law until our Town Master Plan and Waterfront plan is updated.
8:05 - 8:10 Rose Library Update - Hollis Griffin
No update from Hollis. The Town has successfully killed the library expansion referendum on technicalities even although 900+ residents signed the petitions.
